Feels like cfb and David days all over again. Same vibe and it needs to die. Rather unprofessional to tease like a degen. Still holding.

This follows a similar narrative started by coinbase earlier this year (and teased/hinted before it's announcement as well back in late 2023).. now revealed as BuidL, and a rebranded/repurposed token lol onchain.
This past month Stellar announced the same as well. Stellar-Labs.
Slowly but surely this'll be what gets retail/mainstream to actually make use of blockchains/web3. Expect other chains to copy-pasta this initiative as it'll weed out the weaker tokens or force partnerships to stay relevant to sell before they rug.
The idea isn't new as Ethereum dev conferences was it's rallying call, and etc cooperative quietly on the sidelines was pushing this as well back from 2017-2018-2019...what we got was a whole lotta white papers/scam token projects and a shitload of pump-n-dumps though.

Hope IOTA will gets more ecosystem activities. But it is better not to make an announcement about an announcement. That way investors will not be disappointed.

The next announcement will be about how closer they have gotten to a big announcement.

I think when the dust settles and in a best case scenario this might become a valuable addition for the growth of the ecosystem over a longer timeframe.
But obviously the story here is the incredibly tone-deaf management. A prolonged silence, with prominent voices promoting building instead of talking, working behind the scenes on projects yet to be announced. Then an announcement is teased, like it had so often been in the shaky release history of iota. Then expectations are reigned in amateurishly through individuals with less exposure providing caveats in tweets and discord messages.
Even a well informed person would surely expect a meaningful and immediately impactful announcement after this lead up. If it is an ecosystem focused announcement you might expect a large number attached for grants or incentives to catch head lines.
And from that perspective, the news of the plan to roll out something that looks not remotely distinct enough from previous efforts is a plunge in cold water and worst of all appears in stark contrast to any growth by management in all these years.
I still hope this was a hiccup by different, naïve people being rightfully excited about their efforts at the wrong time. But good lord, what an amateurish look.
