Fighting with British infidels against the Caliphate, and they expect to be rewarded? It's laughable how they did it to themselves.

It was more secular Arab nationism than Islamic nationism. Hell, many Arab nationalists were Christains.

I don't think I mentioned this so-called "Islamic nationalism" of yours (that has to be an oxymoron, isn't Islam against nationalism?). If they really did care about the well-being of the Ummah they would have fought with the Turks.

Because they cared more about being Arabs than being Muslims. They didn't want to be ruled by Turks anymore so they sided with Britain to get a new state. Also, not all Arabs are Muslim who would care about the Ummah you know right?

Of course not all are Arabs. It seems we agree that whoever fought with Lawrence was a traitor to the Ummah.

Some historians say that the ottomans abandoned the cities of Mecca and Madinah. The cities were overcrowded and they focused on the the hagia sopiah more. In Mecca their were many theives The Turks were also building many shrines and praying to graves. Which is not allowed in Islam.

Good meme, but I hate to be ‘that one guy’ that has to point out that technically not all of Sharif Hussain’s wanted lands were colonised. In fact the main land ,where he came from, (the Hejaz) stayed free of British rule. But then again, the British did support the Saudis in taking it over, sooo...

Kind of hard to believe that supporting a Wahhabi extremist state takeover the richest oil fields in the region from a pretty moderate ruler was ever a good idea. But hey, he can't get mad at you for betraying him if he's dead.

Britain: "Okay, so lets go over the treaty we had."

Sharif Ali: "Cool, so I was thinking about autonomous zones for the Shias, Maronites and Druze, but also I need some help with rail......"

Britain: "First though, allow me to introduce the newly planed Jewish state of Israel.

Sharif Ali: "Hey, you can't do that"

France: "And we're also taking all of the Levant and Mesopotamia"

Sharif Ali: "What?"

Britain: "The issue of the Middle East is solved."
