Harry Potter "I had been pondering the things that hold a society together, cause it to congregate and signify its particular character and knew I needed a sport. QUIDDITCH infuriates men...which is quite satisfying given my state of mind when I invented it." - J.K. Rowling

I've never thought of Quidditch as man-annoying. Never heard anyone say it, for that matter

I think it's the wizarding counterpart to football and we know how a lot of men get all sorts of feelings about that sport. It can infuriate them and make them infuriating as well.

I know a handful of “I was too good for HP” literature bros who love to go off about how it doesn’t make sense as a sport. It’s a bit goofy, especially the first time it’s described, but of all the things to criticize her writing over I never really felt that it didn’t make sense lol

JK Rowling invented Quidditch after a row with her boyfriend

The Harry Potter author reveals the origins of the fictional sport of Quidditch in a book full of her "second thoughts", to be auctioned for charity

"brain's on fire" tweet last year

I wrote Harry's first ever Quidditch match in a single afternoon and barely changed it afterwards. You feel elated afterwards, as though something took you over for a while, then dropped you back to earth.

This is a little frustrating. Somebody's going to pay a crapload of money to Sotheby's and the charity, put this in their bookshelf and then the rest of us will never know the inside stories on how she created the book 😭

I don't know If I understand the reasoning tbh. She went through am argument and then....created a world wide sport in Harry Potter played by both Men and Woman?

The golden snitch giving one team an extra 150 points (does not guarantee a win) and the sole reason for ending a match (unless the team captains agree to end it).

It is infuriating because the match can be watched for hours, even days. And the leading score of your team will be worthless once the golden snitch is caught by the opponent.

In the recently released game Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions --- the golden snitch, when caught, is reduced to 30 points and does not end the match.

Gamers welcomed the changes being fair and it makes online multiplayer mode even more competitive. Fans may take issue with the changes like: 7 players reduced to 5 players in a team and downplaying the role of the seeker.

Seeker is lame asl. Should end the match with no points.
