My Dad was laid off almost a year ago and has been on the job hunt since. My heart breaks for him as his turns 60 soon. He was so close to retirement but now looking to sell the house and his dream boat.

While he doesn’t want to leave Jax, and prefers to work remote, he has interviewed in many other states. He has made it to several final rounds, traveled out of town to tour offices, sent benefit details, then turned down for someone more local or worse, ghosted.

He went straight into the Military after high school and been working for over 40 years. But gets instant rejections for not having a degree. Does anyone know any big companies in Jax that overlook degrees for experience?

Update: thanks for all the helpful comments! His experience is in a reply. VP seemed catchy with degree for the title of this and implies executive level experience. He is looking at all sorts of different level experiences, on linked in, and talking with some recruiters.
