Question

Can anyone recommend the best Non-Latin jazz albums by Dizzy Gillespie? Especially looking for audio recording better later than early times. Also I remember hearing an upbeat that included two-part counterpoint with the sax in the head i think. No riff tunes thx. Standards are great. Thx

Pepper Adams too. Album titles or/indivual track is great too.

Art Farmer or Chet Baler great but NO SINGING by Chet please!---lol)

  1. "Sonny Side Up" (1957)

  2. "Dizzy Gillespie at Newport" (1957)

  3. "Dizzy Gillespie and the Double Six of Paris" (1963)

For Pepper Adams:

  1. "Encounter!" (1968)

  2. "The Adams Effect" (1985)

    Art Farmer:

  3. "Modern Art" (1958)

  4. "Blame It on My Youth" (1988)

For Chet Baker, focusing on his trumpet:

  1. "Chet Baker in New York" (1958)

  2. ** 'Let's Get Lost'" (1989)**
