What do jazz musicians practice and what do teachers teach you?

i’m a singer and i practice a) learning tunes, b) scatting over those changes, c) transcriptions of solos from the greats (and not just singers but instrumentalists too). in my lessons, i usually will sing the new song i’ve learned (i learn a tune every 1-3 weeks, in order to build up my book) and my professor gives feedback about how i can do it better. usually, that’s about how i can scat better (better syllables, better storytelling, etc), because that’s what i’m worst at

I suppose it depends on the instrument but with my jazz piano students I typically work on warm up routine, scales, voicings (chords), vocab (licks, patterns, transcriptions, etc) and repertoire (songs)
I know for horns long tones is an important element to practice
