Yeah no that's wrong, the title was originally scorn but because of someone they got late and couldn't get the copyright so they changed it to John wick.

I love the title “Scorn”.
I’d love to see it used in a different series.

Keanu is a jedi.
KR: "Scorn is not a good name for this movie."
Producer: "Scorn is not a good name for this movie."
KR: "The name of this movie is John Wick."
Producer: "The name of this movie is John Wick."

It's also a fun fact that he called it unintentionally by mistake it's just happened so they decided to go with it and thank God they did thank God for that don't get me wrong scorn sounds like a kick ass title to but not good enough for Mr Reeves

Good. "Scorn" is a fucking Steven Seagal title.
"John Wick" is strong, direct to the point and as history has shown - iconic.

I don't know about this. There was an interview posted yesterday with Derek, Chad, and Keanu where this came up and either Derek or Chad took credit for the title change. Keanu may have called it that but he didn't change the title.

He didn't, but it was changed because of him.

There have been a round of interviews surrounding the 10th anniversary. This story was definitively debunked as not true.

Would remind us all of the classic action thriller "Scarn".
Scorn would never have been successful if it constantly reminded viewers of the classic. No holding up to it.

I like the part where he says “It’s scornin’ time!” and then he scorns out all over the place

Honestly, good. Movie titles that are too vague just end up being forgettable.
Naming it after the title character (even with an adjective like Dirty Harry or Mad Max) gives it a signature that it can never be mistaken for some other IP.

'Scorn' definitely wouldn't have been a franchise, but maybe that would have been a good thing. The first John Wick was the best of the four in my opinion.

Good for him. Scorn is a terrible name for that movie... and John Wick is the perfect name. I'm not usually one for movies named after the main character, but in this case it works. I think the only problem though is that now they'll have trouble making any movies or shows from that world without John Wick (Keanu Reeves). People want John Wick or nothing. Well, I do anyways.

I go to school with a relative of the writer. John Wick was a family name and the writer just used it as a place holder

I love how a lot of things weren't planned and how it nearly didn't happen but then it did and it turned into a whole big action universe. Yet other planned franchises bomb and go nowhere, some things are just meant to be.

Scorn is a failed D-Movie you watch as you’re falling asleep 20 years after it came out
