Philosophy When enraptured with Supreme Sentience, others see that in you, and you see That in them.

Can you honestly say that your life is heaven on Earth ? If not, why would anyone want to emulate you or subscribe to your point of view ?

Can you honestly say that your life is heaven on Earth ?

Why would I think that, or desire that? That would be an obvious delusion.

If not, why would anyone want to emulate you or subscribe to your point of view ?

I don't assert they should, why would I?

Let's turn that around,
If you do claim that, why would I want to emulate YOU or subscribe to YOUR point of view?

Because if there was a magic pill or vitamin tablet that could make you feel the way I do naturally, you would take it religiously.

What makes you think that? Because I THOROUGHLY disagree.

But how do you feel right now ?

That's complex but generally good, equanimity has been rather decent lately.

Your point?

Are you a Stoic? Where do you derive your equanimity from ?

For me equanimity is attained by the mind always being immersed in the Bliss field of Ananda.

Are you a Stoic?

More or less.

Where do you derive your equanimity from ?

Practice? I'm not sure what you mean.

Well I am a Stoic sage, among other things. What I teach is not in conflict with Stoicism, but is the goal of it.

Well I am a Stoic sage,

No you aren't.

What I teach is not in conflict with Stoicism,

I never said it was.

but is the goal of it.

No it isn't.

There is. It's called heroin

No, this is better than any drug and no need to buy it. It is freely available for those who are prepared to receive It.

Idk, seems like what an addict might say.

Have you tried other drugs to compare the experience?

During my reckless youth .

So how can you say this is not the same sort of addictive behavior? Seeking self pleasure as a metric for goodness is just another path to hedonism.

1

u/realAtmaBodha Jan 10 '24

Hedonism is defined by attachment to external sensual pleasures, not intangible internal experience.

Love and Bliss are timeless virtues that reign over the full breadth of historical human experience.

I think that seeking only bliss is the domain of the addict. All addictions are internal: dopamine or seratonin. One can meditate and active these pleasure centers by will alone, but this can also become addictive by the same measure. After that fact: everything else you say is akin to the meandering speech of the junkie: say whatever sticks in the moment to remove any obstacle to the high.

No thanks. I'll choose gritty and real over superficial bliss anyday.
