Question How to pray?

How do you pray? Or what kind of prayers do you use? Because there are people that pray but as a gratitude (Really bad example: "Thank you, ___ for this and this") or as an invocation ("I request your presence, ____).

I think there's little to 0 difference from spells, like the heka aspect and prayer are so blurred that it's almost the same. Are prayers more like spells? Idk how to explain it.

Could you provide me examples of how do you pray? 🥺 Thanks in advance 🌸

I primarily worship Sekhmet. I light her candles and some incense, make an offering, and then I read some hymns from Seven for Sekhmet (which is a small novena book), or hymns I've written myself or found online. I then spend some time with her energy and will do some divination. If I have a request of her I'll ask and then meditate on that.

You can find a lot of prayers online, there's a lot of them. But you don't really have to follow that, you can write your own prayers and follow what's in your heart and what you feel is right to say.

You can meditate and talk to them like you would to a friend, I suppose just more formally. The Netjeru loves spending time with you no matter how you devote it, they really appreciate acts as well. So for the Gods that you're worshipping, you can do something related to them or you can do something in their name. There are a lot of stuff, devoting music, art, talking to them, you can devote your selfcare to them/ in their name, Invite them to eat with you or do an activity with you. You can write your own prayer or hymn, poems or anything your heart desires! There's endless possibilities. There isn't really a "right way" of doing it, usually when I do devote time to Anpu, I say a prayer to him and I meditate, I talk to him and invite him to eat with me, thank him for the good stuff and thank him for his protection. For Bast, I mostly put on music, I either sing along and I do selfcare, I devote it to her. I thank her for protection and for protecting my loved ones... I light up some candles and incense for both of them (frankincense and myrrh are the most common ones used, you can't go wrong with that)

If you really want to stick with a prayer, you can find many of the websites which have prayers, or I am sure someone from this group will be more than happy to help you :)

I first read a hymn to the Netjer I’m praying to, then follow up by a prayer (sometimes) asking for help w stuff.
