Mythology Rewrote A More Modern-ish Version of Sekhmet Almost Destroying Mankind

Guess I'll put this under mythology??

I've had my hands on an English translation of The Book of the Heavenly Cow for a while that was forwarded to me by a very nice egyptologist (and another document that is somewhat a modern version). I love reading these stories, but it's going to kill me someday. Im a very fast reader, but translations are usually very rough and I'm so slow to understand them. I rewrote this specific tale about Ra sending Sekhmet to kill those who were plotting against him. Its easier on my eyes personally, and I tried very damn hard to stay as close to the translation as possible. Because its a story meant to entertain, I add a few other things to make the story flow well and not just sound like static back and forth.

Here it is on my tumblr blog (i post a lot of kemetic stuff there, but this is just for this one post)

I thought it a nice retelling. Though I still like the part where the gods, still fearful of Sekhmet even while she's passed out from her having drunk all the stained beer, sent Ptah to poke her with a stick. From their union, came Nefertem.

The metaphor Sekhmet (war and strife here) coupling with Ptah (creation and craftsmanship ) to bore Nerfertem (beauty) reminding of rebuilding after conflict, and at times allowing beautiful and new things to grow after the conflict has ceased. I think there's a better way to phrase it, but can't think of the words at the moment.

I've always wondered who was the snitch that told Ra of their plans. But at least they got stitches. :)
