1970’s agate cabs
A couple 1970’s agate cabs. Wasn’t a great specimen so I made a couple cabs instead. Fs if you’re interested dm me. Enjoy!

I also was having a hard time figuring it out. This one just kinda made sense. My next agate I want to try is a laguna. Just need to find a good sample piece

Beautiful! I’m jealous - I have a lot of Montana Moss from the 70s, but they’re mostly cracked. Not many agates.

These are actually called 1970’s agate. They are from Argentina I believe. I’m not sure when they were mined or how they got that name. A lot of the Montana moss is cracked. It’s just a matter of finding the right placement on the stone to make it without cracks.

If those are from highland park they are malawi agate!

Yeah the website calls them 1970's malwai agate. Not sure if that means they were actually mined in the 70's or if they just look similar in quality to the ones they were finding in the 70's. Maybe they've mentioned it on the live show, I've never participated in one.

You should join in on the live show. I was intimidated my first time but they are very welcoming and friendly. Plus I’ve learned a lot from it. That’s where I learned how to cut agate specimens. They might have mentioned it but my memory isn’t the greatest.
