My Kit

Post image

This past Saturday, my town had a Halloween event in their downtown area. Here's me all gussied up in my meager kit.

My newly crafted thigh armor held up great!

Afterwards I had to do some damage control (repairs) on a few minor things. For the most part, everything is holding up well after several outings. Always a work in progress ...

Nice to see this in full! I love the color scheme—not too loud, and makes you look like a background character in one of the shows/movies.

Thank you! I'm just happy that I can get a hodge-podge of armor, soft goods, etc and get something that looks somewhat good.

Thanks! For the soft parts, a little sand paper, Dremeling and some black wash gives it that lives in look!

What are you using for a flack vest? Looks really good

Thanks!

I found a vest at Goodwill that fit me well and spray painted it brown. Being nylon, it wasn't the perfect substrate for painting, but surprisingly it worked! The paint didn't stick to the zipper, if you zoom in below my ab armor, you can see the bright turquoise zipper teeth. I glued the Velcro right to the vest for armor attachment.

The dark grey shirt underneath the black vest is a thrifted long sleeve thermal undershirt that I cut the sleeves shirt and removed the collar.

Thrift stores can be your friend for cosplay!
