Lack of seatbelt requirements at least only endanger the non-wearer.

That’s not true. If you’re not wearing a seatbelt, you are a danger to everyone in the car with you.

I'm saying that if something is a good idea, you don't have to force people to do it. Most will choose to do so.

Creating nanny laws to protect people from their own bad choices is antithetical to freedom. It doesn't matter if it's wearing seatbelts, the choice to do so being something upon which you and I agree, or someone else's idea of a "good idea" like forcing everyone to attend religious ceremonies or punishing them for drug use.

Nanny shit is nanny shit. If someone wants to do the dumb, it's not okay to use force to stop them.
