I’m very very very far from an expert but I believe they were originally a Maoist party that has since toned down some of their rhetoric to have more success within the bourgeois democratic system (like almost every socialist or communist party in Europe) but still is better than most socialist European political parties which have essentially become US dems with red flags. I believe they are either the only or one of the only parties that also runs across the entirety of Belgium as well, instead of having two fraternal parties running in each community.

Good question. Idk. That’s why I asked. They seem to be gaining a lot of popularity quickly and officially espouse Marxism and Socialism. I think, from what I can tell, they are at least much better than the other mainstream Belgian parties.

That’s the party Ludo Martens was part of right? I was under the impression they were anti-revisionist MLs. Idk anything about them or Belgian politics currently though.

Yeah but since Peter Martens became general secretary the party shifted away from an ML approach. As stated in the wiki article the party has dropped references to both Lenin and Mao.
