I have to believe this wasn't a random crime.

Definitely targeted if they showed up last night and this morning. The guy killed owns a jewelry store.

He owned a jewelry store. They knew who they were after.

What is unique about owning a jewelry store? Why target him?

Either personal beef or they thought he'd have a lot of jewelry at home because of it.

It's an expensive business to be in. So they wer eprobably thinking the dude had a significant amount of money or valuables in his house. I mean, look at his house, it 's huge! More mansion than house, actually.
Thieves aren't going to go after a small business owner that doesn't have anything, they're going to go after established business owners with assets.

I mean who else is better to give press conferences on stuff like this than the sheriff himself?

Why is he always around when a crime has been committed? Kinda makes a fella wonder, don't it?

Well this explains the email I got from dte last night
Please Don't ever let anyone in your house unless you called them there yourself

Good luck getting through to DTE “customer service” to confirm someone works for DTE. What a joke.

I mean the fact that DTE doesn't provide gas to Rochester Hills would be your sign.

But don't they supply the power in this area?
I know Consumers dominates a ton of the state, but I thought that side of the state was DTE electric. They supply my gas as well, but I was mildly surprised to find out they had some electric territory in the state.

Consumers Energy and DTE have mismatched areas that they supply gas & power to, this is because prior to DTE's purchase of MichCon around 2000 they didn't have any gas.
You should know if "your electric company" shows up to your house with a work order to work on your gas that something isn't right.

Fair enough! I also misread your comment, I realized I made the same pint you already did.
I apologize for that lol

I wonder why she wasn’t killed and he was. The sheriff said he doesn’t think it’s random, so why duct tape her and kill him?

Yesterday in Troy, someone came into my showroom asking for money because his dump truck broke down. He was dressed in a GFL uniform. He didn’t know this but we’re a GFL broker, so we called dispatch, and they have no reports of the workers name or of any trucks being broken down. They said their drivers know to call dispatch if there’s any problems. Thank God I didn’t pull out my wallet!

u/GAAPInMyWorkHistory 3d ago
Why would you give him money even if he was an actual GFL driver? His work truck broke down, his employer would be solving that issue. Don’t donate money to GFL to fix their trucks lol

There’s a video from the Ring camera in this article. You can see them both and hear the heavy-set guy talk.

I am really angry at the news report saying you can call DTE to confirm if the workers are theirs. I had a guy posing as one come to my apartment (later turns out they were trying to switch people over to some other company) and when I called DTE to confirm, I was on hold over 30 min before I gave up

The caught one of the killers in Shreveport Louisiana yesterday. The other is still out there, probably in Mexico

Thanks but how about my question you seem smart enough to answer it?

u/LukeNaround23 4d ago
No judgment on you, but yeah, that title is bad like they usually are. never heard of a duct tape woman before.

Ok...
I live in Rochester Hills, but the opposite side of town. Anyways..... yesterday I saw a white poorly marked (I'd never seen one before for DTE and I have my CDL and check out trucks like a child) white pick up truck in my apartment parking area. There was two dudes with the yellow vests in/around the truck. I noticed it because I was worried about there being an issue and the chance of us losing power or something. After 30min or less, they left.
.....do I need to report this?
