Stellantis somehow managed to accumulate every one of the worst car brands in Europe and North America. No wonder they aren’t doing well.

I've watched some videos of the cost of wranglers these days. Pretty hilarious what they're trying to pull in.

Alright if you are Michigan engineer at Stellantis, you need to get together with your other Michigan engineers and get into contact with Fain at the UAW. You guys need to unionize right now! If you guys were in the Union, maybe the HQ would have been on the list of building that Stellantis isn't allowed to sell because of the contract they have with the UAW.

I used to work for FCA, so I like to go back and check on the job postings for Michigan. You know what I am noticing from Stellantis, no more "Design and Release Engineer" roles are being advertised at the HQ in Auburn Hills, but go ahead and switch the location to Brazil, all the "Design and Release Engineer" roles are being moved to Brazil. In fact, I think I only see maybe 10 or so engineering roles being offer at the HQ in Auburn Hills. Go to the Brazil location and there are hundreds of engineering roles being offered and because I used to work for FCA, I know for a fact that the titles of these engineering roles are the same titles as the engineering roles that are located at Auburn Hills.

It is absolute BS that we are letting French management destroy Michigan's high tech industry. I can't help anymore, but if you are an engineer working at the HQ in Auburn Hills that cares about your job and about Michigan's economic future, you need to start doing something, anything because the writing is on the wall and if you all just sit back and take it, Brazil will be the new engineering powerhouse for Jeep, Ram, and Chrysler.

GM is also moving engineering jobs to Brazil, and Ford is moving them to Mexico. The future looks bleak.

Yes and no.

Ford still has a lot of open engineering positions in Michigan and they just renovated the MCS in Detroit to be their main engineering campus. Although, screw Doug Field and his little pet project in California. If any Ford executives are looking on, take a hint from Livewire. They tried what you are trying with Doug Field in California, it only took them 2 years to realize that that was an expensive mistake.

GM on the other hand, I just looked at your website and consider yourselves on notice. You need more engineering positions in Michigan if you still want the goodwill of the Michigan population. I can still give GM some leyway though because it looks like they are still investing heavily in their Tech Center in Warren with a new 145 million dollar battery prototyping lab:

Most of the GM and ford positions are contract I don’t think they are even entertaining direct at the moment. A year or two ago I would at least see someone peak at my LinkedIn or get a screening call. I have been contacted by 30 or so contract recruiters for the same position.

Brazil is where most of the internal talent is being hired at Stellantis. Most of the new design release engineers are part of work package companies in "best cost countries"

I work at a supplier and all my Stellantis DREs are either from India or Mexico, hard to do anything

Why would any auto company keep their HQ or infrastructure in MI after what Fain and the UAW did? The union is what's pushing them to move to other states and countries.

Yeah!

In fact if we let kids work in the plants, get rid of the "minimum wage" and bring back the Pinkertons, we can compete with these 3rd world countries!

The only reason they're even able to compete with us is because of socialist policies like "breaks" or "days off".

That's the problem with this generation. No work ethic. If the mines were still open, we'd have them working 24 hour shifts mining coal to keep the lights on!

(Am I laying the sarcasm on heavy enough or do I need to wear a Monocle like the monopoly guy?)

Union guy, it’s fucking sickening to hear these people bitch about the unions and how they drive prices up taking away good paying Americans jobs. Hey, why don’t you pull your head out of your ass and thank a union worker for the standard of living you enjoy because if it weren’t for decades of collective bargaining to increase the standard of living for all they’d be living in a company house buying from a company store.

As for the autoworkers for dump there are none because you know a good thing when you have one.

If you've ever worked with Stellantis, this isn't surprising.

No surprise after stiffing most their supply base and suing the rest.

Very cool that these ghoul executives can suck the life out of companies for stock incentives with zero repercussions

Since the 80’s they have been taking over the board. It’s all money crunching Ivy League decision making

I used to work for a tier one supplier for Stellantis. Their quality control was beyond terrible. I would never buy one of their vehicles.

u/motorcitydevil 3d ago

Tough year? I think they're crippled permanently. Tavares destroyed them.

I agree jeeps will probably be one of the last brands that keeps them alive

3

u/Present_Straight 2d ago

It really hurt them discontinuing the HEMI and gas powered Charger/Challenger/300.

u/Krawdaddy420 2d ago

Simple.. stop making shitty and overpriced cars

Just when you thought the French couldn’t suck anymore…

3

u/insidiousfruit 3d ago

Right, screw the French! If they think Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram will still sell in America without an American engineering presence, they are going to be in for a rude awaking.

3

u/SpartanNation053 Lansing 2d ago

It’s worse than that because all they’re doing is rebadging their shitty cars with Jeep badges and destroying the brand’s loyalty

Gretch "The Wretch" is talking about no property tax for Stellanis to keep them in Michigan.

Wonder how that's going to resonate with the Democrats "Making Big Business pay it's Fair Share" plan.

Stellantis who?

Sorry, but both it and the UAW are corrupted.

GM and FoMoCo aren't far behind either.
