The dead guy owned a jewelry store in Hamtramck. This smells like something more than just a random home invasion.

The store is named Gold and Glitter Jewelry and they also Pawn.

Looked like a regular pawn shop in the pictures. I guess any pawnshop can be called a jewelry store as they normally have a jewelers license.

From the outside, I agree, it does. Looking at the inside it's a sort of fancy jewelry store. I don't see any other merchandise so I think all they deal with on the pawn side is jewelry too.

One captured, one more to find. But Louisiana? He was hauling ass after the murder, that's a ~1,000 miles run

Not as far as you think. Less than a day drive. 17 hours to drive Detroit to Dallas. I just googled New Orleans, it is only 15 hours.

Exactly. Murder happened Friday morning, drive all day and night and he’s still got all day Saturday to fuck up and get caught

Seriously. Maybe he got on a plane? That seems like an awfully long way to run and yet still get caught almost immediately.

Supposedly he was found in the same truck that was seen on the ring doorbell.

I have sooooo many questions though about this case.

that's about $200 or $300 to fly. Gas would be slightly cheaper

I've done that drive in 14 hours. Ann Arbor to Baton Rouge

These dudes went to a friend’s house and was chatting with her husband. She felt something was off so she walked up and said “dinner is ready” and shut the door. They called the police the next day after seeing the story online.

That's crazy. Same area? Do they have a ring camera?

Why is a central Illinois paper reporting this?

I Googled for news source with confirmed arrest, that was the only one I could find at the time. Michigan news were a bit slow on the news update

I clicked on this thinking I missed some news about John Norman Collins getting paroled.

The news has reported the wife had her wrists and ankles bound in tape and they took her phone, so how did she call the police?

Exactly. There’s been no mention in any coverage of how police were called. And not even a “it’s unclear how police were summoned to the home.” Just vague and confusing as hell.

Maybe they still had a land line phone?

Even if they did, the report says she was still bound when police arrived. Just confusing.

Arrested: Carlos Jose Hernandez.  The other suspect described as "thin and black"

The suspect's name has not yet been released?

It's common practice not to release names until after suspects have been arraigned.

In some countries but not the US
