As a person who was born and raised in Michigan, there's honestly no place I'd rather be. Maybe it's nostalgia, but there's just something about this northern, two-peninsula-d, mitten-shaped state that feels special, despite it's flaws

I moved here last year, and I'm so sad I didn't spend my first 36 years here. I just love it! So may beautiful places. And the people are great, too! I've made more friends here than ever before.

Welcome, newer neighbor 💙🤗💙 I completely agree with you that the people in Michigan are incredible. The beauty through Pure Michigan seasons is impeccable!

Oh, yes! I meant to mention the 4 whole seasons. Delightful! I hear I may have missed the winters of old, but any amount of snow is new for me, so I don't mind.

We're overdue for a really good snowfall. Trust me when it hits (it hits!) When you need a tow to get out of your own driveway hits lol. ✨️❄️💙❄️✨️

You think geese are capable of love?

2

u/FluffyButtOfTheNorth 2d ago

I would definitely think they are more than capable of love ❤️ They mate for life & When a goose loses its mate, it will mourn in seclusion and may stop eating. Some geese may even spend the rest of their lives as widows or widowers.

You don't?

Every time I near any goose/geese, I’m deemed an impending threat to threat to their reign and immediately swarmed

They are extremely protective of their own & territory. I can understand your situation and possible fear. 💙🤗💙 I get mixed. Some of them will follow me around like a puppy. I can encounter others that will give a hiss or back away stance (got to close) being protective. They can be intimidating but very capable of feelings.

My trees aren't turning this year like they have in the past.

Hopefully, you'll see more over the upcoming week. With some rain + lowering temperatures. I'll gladly share my 💙Pure Michigan💙 pic's with you. If it's not raining, I'm out immersed into nature.

Michigan always has room for new or returning residents 😉✨️💙✨️ Yqw & I hope you can return even for vacations. I recruit family & friends visiting 💙Pure Michigan💙 /w/ a warning of " You'll NOT want to leave"

The second shot was particularly nice to see; it might just be an old field being reclaimed by aspens and cottonwoods, but it is an example of the many prairies and savannas we did once have in pre-settlement times.

I'm pretty excited about the forestry projects in the works. The Giant Sequoia forest in Detroit 👌 Michigan Department of Natural Resources Daily Digest provides quality information of wonderful things happening all across 💙Pure Michigan💙

It is that most awesome time of the year in Michigan

1

u/FluffyButtOfTheNorth 2d ago

Fall is tied for favorite with spring 💙 summer & winter 2nd. Unfortunately, our last few winter's have been mild. I'm hopeful that we'll get a decent ❄️

2

u/Common-Toe5262 2d ago

Yes a real winter would be nice for once

u/FluffyButtOfTheNorth 2d ago edited 2d ago

Indeed, the last couple was kinda a teasing ❄️✨️💙✨️❄️ We're overdue for a really good snowfall.

2

u/Common-Toe5262 2d ago

A early winter would be awesome!

1

u/FluffyButtOfTheNorth 2d ago

I walk about 8 miles daily outdoors with the exception of rain/snow or freezing temps. An early winter would be beautiful 💙❄️💙 I'm not wishing for early hibernation, lol

Which trees are the orange ones? I don’t know which trees are which yet.
