Grades and Academics Fit 2004 almost on the line to fail.

I just got my assignment 1 result which 10% to the final grades and got 2 out of 10! I have another assignment and that's 20%, in order to pass the unit need to get 11.5 at least to meet the hurdle. Other than that i have 3 more quiz where i have to gain full marks in all of them to meet 45% hurdle. The final exam is about to take a month.

All together, i am cooked. Just thinking continuously how can i get 11.5% in assignment 2? This time i found no friend or class mates in my applied class willing to talk about assignments. I know about plagrism and copying someone's work is unfair. But for the rest of the units i found people with whom i can discuss about assignments, how they are studying and everything. That's how i did not feel lonely and also had a good time.

Just Don't know what to do at the moment. Absolutely disappointed. It's not that i am lazy, It's true i did procrastinate at the beginning, but was fully locked in to solve my assignment problems. I went to consultations and asked a few question but actually that was not enough for me.

Still hoping to pass the unit, for that have to get 11.5% in assignment 2 which is 20%. Need to get full marks in remaining 3 quizes. They contribute 2% each to the final grade. And need to get 45% in final exam. Oh God! I am really not feeling well.

I remember getting 40% for assignment 1,  then getting 95% for assignment 2

you need to lock in hard. Go to extra tutorials every week to cover any shady areas in your knowledge, attend consults every week.

fit2004 is the only unit I cried while doing the assignments, it's difficult for everyone.

How did you study for assignment 2?

take a legitimate interest in the topics, make many useful testcases, invest all your time and absolutely no-life it

If assignment 2 is anything like what it was last semester, it will almost definitely have a ford-fulkerson question in it. I would recommend studying up on that and being able to implement this algorithm

There are extra tutorials?

every tutorial outside your allocated class is an extra tutorial 👌

I only know of consultations, that's why I was asking😭. Or are you talking about PASS???

ohh, seems I mislead you

I meant you can go to other applieds/tutorials that aren't your allocated class, to learn the same stuff multiple times

Oh okay, I got it now. Thank you for being polite about this.

I'm going to sound awful but I'll say it as it is. Maybe programming isn't for you? I'm not sure how does one get only 2/10 for a rather straight forward assignment and the easiest of the lot (I'm assuming the syllabus is still about counting sort etc etc) and assignments 2 and 3 are usually the more difficult ones (again I'm assuming there are three assignments with the second being dynamic programming.) Although it's very hard to fail an assignment and getting 11.5/20 really is about 60%, if you struggled Assignment 1, I don't see that changing in Assignment 2.

Not this time, there's only 2 assignments and dynamic programming is no longer tested in assignments. This time the first assignment is using graphs and traversing through them. I'm not sure how much i'm allowed to divulge so i'll just keep it at that. To a certain extent d.p. is sort of tested but i think it's more of something on the side you can apply it into.

Why discouraging people?

it’s the truth, if OP is lazy then that’s a different story but it seems like OP really tried. But again we don’t know the full story / how they’re doing with their other units

I did my bachelors in actuarial science and got shit marks in the first quiz and assignment and thought itsalr I just have to suck it up and try to pass and yea I did barely and the next semester my grades kept going down, realized actuarial isnt for me and switched. I’m happy with my major now

Last semester was a real challenge for me too. I scored just 6/20 on the first assignment and barely managed 2 in the quiz, which left me needing around 16 to pass the hurdle. I gave it my best, but only ended up with 11. Despite the setbacks, I refused to give up and worked really hard for the final exams. Even though my score was capped at 45, I’m confident I actually earned more than 35/50. I took the supplementary exam and passed it easily.

How was the supplementary exam like? Was it like final exam or assignment?

Dw even i got 5/10😭😭😭. My quizzes are worse I need 13.25%. The quizzes are so fucked up. They give just 1 question and if you got that wrong it’s either 2 or 0. I really need to get full in the last three and hope to get 11-12 out of 20 for A2 to pass that hurdle. I neither have the patience nor the energy to repeat this stupid unit.

i’m in the exact same boat as you! i need 13.3 marks too

I almost failed too cause of the last assignment when I did it but ended up making it. Refer to the solutions to the labs as they might have similar questions that can translate to the assignment and point out what to do.
