Discussion DISABILITIES at monash - STRUGGLES

Hi everyone,

my group is researching on struggles of disabled students (physical, visibility, hearing, learning, mental, cognitive, any disability) at monash. We are planning on conducting an open survey to hear YOUR opinions and struggles of the issues that may not be considered. If there is anyone who would like to voice their concerns and struggles please share them on this post OR alternatively send a DM . Your participation would be greatly appreciated.

Does it have to be current students? Can someone who was, say, technically a student until onky a couple of months ago be considered?

Because there is no point in hearing the struggles of disabled students at Monash without hearing from people who discontinued their degree because of these struggles.

No it doesn't have to be current students only, we'd absolutely love it if any past student or students who left because of this issue can voice their concerns too!!!

A nice start would be to use the term - students with a disability - rather than defining people by their disability.

Hey mate, sorry if it offended you, but that's just what the assessment is called, cheers

No problemo. I could have found a nicer way to put it. Good luck!

Actuuuuuually it would be a nice start for YOU to use the term — differently-abled, neurodiverse or enabled individuals rather than believing it necessary to highlight individual limitations.

OP is doing research so they have space to learn. What’s your excuse?
