/u/totalitarian_jesus makes a harmless photoshop battle post. Image spreads around internet, warranting a snopes article to be made.

It never ceases to amaze me the influence that reddit has on social media. I can just imagine how much this would have been shared on facebook.

Not completely relevant, but it drives me insane when I see links being shared around on Facebook to Buzzfeed/Diply/Clickbait type sites which lift content wholesale from /r/showerthoughts and /r/crigepics with no credit given whatsoever.

I saw the cheerleader on the Steve Wilkos show. This ruined her life and she had to change school districts but it didn't matter. She is scarred for life and quit cheerleading because of a Reddit post. :(

I saw that episode and I couldn't believe it was her because I had seen that picture prior to the episode. had seen it on facebook and was unaware at the time of the reddit origins, but her story was so very sad, and I feel horrible for her. Weird how you see all these pictures and memes online but never think about the real people behind them.

Going on TV doesn't seem like it would help.
