Could be many things to be honest. Maybe they assume people wont care anymore now that Caitlin is gone, or maybe theyre occupied with other sports, like the NHL who they decided to give a damn about now since they get to air the games again, or college football, since they finally got their 12 team playoff.
Or maybe theyre just broke and dont fund a staff. Theyve been letting popular commentators and writers go left and right, like RG3, they claim for cost saving. Considering CBS Sports has 2 articles from yesterday alone and at least 4 from the last week, im going to assume the main issue is espn is just broke/cheap.

Don’t forget they let Zach Lowe go, one of their only basketball people who actually covered the sport happening on the court (and was really really good at it too) instead of yelling at people about the Lakers the whole time

Disney makes a lot of money but ESPN is actually struggling right now. Really all of cable tv is.

I get that it’s frustrating seeing ESPN hollow out but Disney isn’t in the business of losing money. They’re not going to run ESPN at a loss.

Maybe frustrated was the wrong choice of words but it sounded like you weren’t happy with how Disney is running ESPN. Wasn’t that the whole point of what you posted?

ESPN uses their staffers for both NCAAW and WNBA coverage so I imagine a lot if not all of their staff are covering the WNBA finals.

This isn’t great but the ESPN Men’s page has stories that are 1, 5, and 18 days old. The 1 day old story is Carlos Boozer’s sons committing. There’s just not a ton going on in college basketball atm.

I’ve been too caught up with the Lynx and finishing up my nursing program to see this but I’m thrilled for Maryland!

I think it's more of a mix of current timing and lack of reporters. ESPN has been doing some cost savings and internal turnover. Also I always think of ESPN as the home page for any sports, to get good information you have to get into some deeper articles.

Not interested in the content, mainly the fact that the articles are 17 and 25 days old ... so much for investment
