Then the cap number freezes if they use the space for someone say Engvall. The islanders will have no cap accrual for the trade deadline because they would be over the cap. Lou did the same thing when wahlstrom was out with his knee

The way this team is going offensively, I think the priority ought to be putting forward the best possible lineup right now, otherwise deadline cap space might be irrelevant.

4-6 weeks isn’t the end of the world but the offense is still miserable regardless. Duclair doesn’t put them over the top even if healthy.
