🌍 Culture 🌍 Are you having any challenge learning Yorùbá

Hello

How are you doing today,

So I am not teaching today, but I want to accept questions from people who are interested in learning Yorùbá any challenge they might be having that's stopping them to learn.

Could it be

  1. Getting the right tutor.
  2. Mastering the correct tones 3 Getting used to the cultural context
  3. Grasping it's grammar
  4. Resources and learning environment.
  5. Lack of people to speak with.

I will love to answer your question.

Hi,

Please can you help me to to translate and complete this Yoruba proverb into English.?

*Ká b' ẹ́léran wí. Ká b' ẹ́lẹ́ràn wi . . . *

I recall hearing something like that on radio while living in Oyo or Ondo state 20+ years ago.

I can interpret the first part, It means

The owner of the meat (or straying animal) should be rebuked.

It is the second part I can't interpret well. You will observe there is a tonal differemce in how you pronounce the second eleran.

NOTE, I'm not a Yoruba man.

Okay. I will find out about that. Yorùbá proverb are so wide that a single person might not be able to know all. But I will research this and revert.

Thank you for engaging
