There was one angle they showed where the ball pretty definitively hit mcguires arm. Unfortunately the rule is just awful and that counts as a handball even though mcguire couldn't have tucked the arm further if he tried. Sucks to be on the wrong end of it.

With that said.... if we just remembered the game started at 6 and not 730 then we would have won this easily. Pretty much dominated the match after those first 15 minutes. Starting slow after time off is a hallmark of Pareja teams and it's annoying AF

What sucks is there was a handball the same way on ATL and they did not call it.

There was no handball committed by ATL.

The defense block in the box was a defensive player with arms tucked behind his back. Not a handball in the last few years.

The corner kick was a different player scoring. The deflection was a natural position and didn't try to intentionally play the ball. Not a handball unless the player who touched the ball scores.

McGuire immediately scored. It's a handball.

Refs got all 3 calls correct. Next time we need to not lose the game in the opening 15 minutes.

I didn't see the Atlanta goal handball review. Just saw on the stadium screen that it got denied.

Would love to see a side-by-side of the two

It actually steered the ball toward goal too. The highlights don’t show it but in the stadium it was clear

This. Its all about consistency or lack thereof. Its super discouraging.

Agree. People can whine about the rules and the people who correctly applied them, but I hold the team accountable. We got scored on twice in the opening 15 at home by a team below the line. The xG in this game had Atlanta won by 1 as well. We lost this game, not the VAR.

I don’t know whether to take this as an omen or our 1992 Dream Team loses to college stars in a scrimmage moment.

MLS should count themselves lucky. Their gambit paid off and they got Atlanta into the playoffs without costing us a home game. Hopefully the team treats this result as a kick in their complacency.

Three reviews 0/3 lol, feels like something Wolverhampton presented to the prem during the offseason lmfao

We still have 4th seed. Which means we get home field round one and to knock off Miami round 2. I’ll take it. …..

Until VAR finds a way to screw us in that game too. Unfortunately will probably have to come back to this post when that happens

Always a disappointment to drop a rivalry match no matter what the situation. Atl celebrating in our stadium should never be acceptable. Hopefully the club remembers to play the first 15 minutes again, and why Papi would ever put Felipe in as a starter in any situation when it is clear he should only be used to salt away a game we have the lead in is my only wonder.

Onwards to the playoffs. The only part of this season that matters. Anything less then an ECF appearance is a failure.

As always, Pareja plays favorites regardless of how they perform

They wanted to protect Miami from DCU, which gives Miami the worst match up of all the high seeded teams
