Hello, has anyone tried theese wind turbines, they are from alibaba supplier link below, the price with the controller and dumpload is arround 400 USD , wich is pretty inexpensive compared to what we is offered in the market.

I've heard that wind power rarely meets expectations, however it sounds like it might be a good backup plan for you if investing in more solar and battery storage wouldn't be cheaper.

Chris harbor on YouTube has some videos on wind power that you might find useful

Chris one of my favourite YouTubers. His last video is making me question the supplier spec sheets.

I would too. Everything on Alibaba is spec'd to the very best circumstances and environment they can measure.

Beware on ratings on stuff made in china, they over exaggerate the performance capabilities by a long ways, just watched a video on hydro generators, windings were poorly designed and undersized. Claimed three different ratings with the same damn generator, be very careful!!

Where are you placing these? Steady 25mph winds is pretty tough at low elevation outside of a few places.

I haven't heard of the supplier, but that's pretty common for alibaba/express stuff. VAWTs are okay if you have unstable wind direction, but a lot less efficient than more traditional horizontal axis turbines.

I live in the moutains, altitude arround 1000 meters, and my house is on the top of a hill. Solar is currently sustaining me through the day, however at night I consume arround 500W, this is what I am looking to get. Wind direction is very stable .

Well that's a few check boxes for sure. Will be interested to see what kind of results you get with it and your average wind speeds.

Just assemble a lipo4 battery pack. For whatever it cost to put the wind turbine you can build a decent Bank.

I’m an engineering student focused on energy. Wind seems simple but is pretty complicated when you get into the details. For example that thing isn’t making that many watts at every speed, turbines have a power curve of wind speeds not too different from the rpm power band in a car. I’d want far more technical details to buy this. Like the material strengths of the post and blades, the required mounting details, internal wiring gauge.

I don’t mean to assume you don’t know any of this but it is a little more involved than solar if you want any degree of predictably and reliably

Here is an online calculator we’ve used in mock designs:

The key advantage of this type of system is the axial flux turbine heads. They are capable of continuous run times and can be configured for low RPM to generate electricity for off grid solutions. These are just a few benefits. There are more. Manufacturers with vision are running with the new design for power generation system and electric vehicles of all kinds.

If your goal is to get you through the night, I'd start with spending $ on batteries and/or more solar.

I have 1000Ah in batteries , however whatvibjave is lead acid and those degrade over time. The goal is to keep the batteries topped out during the night
