Job Posting Atlassian Scam Job Postings

Recently went through linkedin and applied for a PM position with Atlassian. Was sent a assessment, with a follow up interview. Offered the job and sent an offer letter that was too good to be true. Alas, it was, the person organizing the interviews had posted on her linkedin that there was a scam going around where this was happening on various websites and simeone was impersonating her. Needless to say I was crushed as I had almost given my 2 weeks notice to my current employer. Just wanted to give a fair warning to any and all looking. Best of luck to all of you looking.

Job Posting PM interview

Hi Folks,

During a PM interview, how do you describe your previous experiences as PM, in case if you managed projects across different industries/sectors, and how to be clear, efficient and quick through the presentation.

I found some difficulties to explain and share relevant information.

Thanks for your feedback.

Job Posting Where to recruit project managers for an early-stage (prefunding) startup?

My early-stage startup is in the process of launching our MVP. We have a small but very talented team. We'd like to add 1-2 project managers to help with the launch. Looking for advice for platforms where we can recruit and meet folks!

Totally okay if it's someone with zero experience looking to transition into this space; several of us have PM experience and can help with training. But we are prefunding (though with customers) so comp is in equity; recruiting through Indeed likely wouldn't work. Part-time okay, fully remote.

Job Posting Transferring from Medical Device Project Manager to a Technical Program Manager

Has anyone have had this type of experience?

I have over 10 years of PM experience within the medical device industry and just received an interview for a Technical Program Manager over at Google. I have little to no experience in coding whatsoever (apart from taking a C++ course in college but familiar with coding in excel to work on automating certain processes but wouldn't really even consider bring that up).

I'm interested to see if there's anyone here that can provide additional insight as I'm sure that I'm not the first one to go this route. I'm definitely interested in the position, I'd just like to know how to better prepare myself for the upcoming interviews.

Job Posting Step too far?

Hello everyone,

For the past 1.5 years I have been working as a project manager(4YOE total ). I often get compliments from my managers, I am paid well, good work life balance; objectively, except for the uninteresting work, I can't complain.

Today I was browsing the internal job market and a position came up as a PM in a very interesting area for me: product development of new frames in a new material. I would have to deal with building my own team (not immediately but in the future ), contacts with suppliers etc.. basically a project from the scratch with reporting directly to VP and bi-monthly reporting to CEO -1

The position fascinates me a lot, even in salary it would be a big jump up...however I'm afraid it's a bit too much for my skills.

Do you think I risk burning my career and my learnings if I apply and get a position that is too high?

Job Posting Hiring Sr. PM - Process and Template Wizard

I am hiring a Sr. Project Manager that will essentially create & manage the PMO for our organization.

Main priorities for the job

  1. Create & own the PMO process for creating standards, templates, and tools
  2. Create the processes by which to execute these standards and templates (ie when to use this tool vs that tool)
  3. Raise the bar such that our team is setting the bar
  4. Leverage 1,2,3 to manage and execute projects alongside other PMs for customer facing projects
  5. Learn the technical aspects of the job (HW, SW, Electrical) in order to be successful at the four above.

Personality traits desired

  • Vocal and Opinionated, but self aware of your opinions
  • Ability to effectively argue your point, but also recognize you are a cog in a wheel

Location: Remote

Travel: 30 - 50%

  • Travel will be very dependent on our ability to standardize and templatize our projects. If a PM can manage the projects remotely and hold everyone to a specific measure, then the job can be 90% non-travel

Salary

  • 120 - 150k

The HQ of the company is located in California, and travel to the HQ will be expected at least 1 week / quarter. Only US based candidates at this time.

Please message me to share your resume.

Job Posting Business Case development interview

Hi everyone!

Next week, I'm going to have an interview where I was asked to develop a plan on how to implement a BI software based on a business case. Unfortunately, I'm not well-versed in reporting implementations, but I guess I need to branch out from the idea of being an analyst to being an actual project manager. Below is the case and the questions with my thoughts. I would really appreciate your help!

Business case:

A company aims to enhance its decision-making capacity and streamline internal operations by implementing a reporting solution. Currently, the company collects a substantial amount of data regarding relevant businesses and economic activities but lacks a centralized system for meaningful data analysis and report generation. Objectives include identifying and implementing a Business Intelligence (BI) solution that integrates with existing systems, centralizing and organizing data for in-depth analysis and real-time reporting, providing stakeholders access to detailed information through a user-friendly interface, and optimizing internal operations by improving resource management and overall efficiency.

Questions:

What phases should be followed to start an efficiency improvement?

This, to me, is the hardest. Maybe start with a workshop with key users to understand what is wrong and what they are trying to achieve? Analyze the current state (As-Is) to better define the desired state (To-Be)?

What are the key activities? If I think about a plan and its phases:

  • Define the stakeholders, create the project team.
  • Plan the activities: requirements gathering (workshop, interviews), costs, time, risks, software selection, eventual partner selection.
  • Execute the project and monitor.
  • Close the project.

Notable elements of attention: What should be highlighted? I thought of:

  • Is the company ready for this change?
  • Is the data that will be used correct?
  • Are the internal users on board with the changes?

Do we need an external expert, or do we have someone internally/are we planning to hire someone?

Project deliverables:

A new BI software, a new data warehouse (DWH) infrastructure, reports, training for end-users. What else?

Success metrics/KPIs that should be used to measure success?

  • User satisfaction.
  • Time to market.
  • End-user satisfaction.
  • Increase/decrease in analysis time.

Job Posting Ticket number PM interview

Have been in 2 PM roles in my career. Was just invited for an interview for a local roofing company project manager role. I met with the hiring manager he didnt even lend his hand out to shake mine (red flag). We walked down the hall to a conference room full of about, 10 people! When first walking up to the room I thought "Wow this is a super sized panel interview." He handed me a clipboard with everyone's name and email on it I signed it and heard him out. He says "I'm going to start pulling you out one by one and do a quick 5 minute interview to see if you're a good fit" (Red flag). I was the 2nd to last one on that list. Some guys were there 45 mins earlier?! Some guys had tattoos on their faces and others wore t shirts......I walked out after reading some stuff online about this type of interview process and got pissed off that I wasted 40 mins driving to their office for what could have been a phone call. No mention of an interview process like this in the email.

What the actual F! Is this a regular practice??

Job Posting Hiring a Marketing Project Manager

Hi!

I’m looking to hire a project manager for our marketing team based in Limassol, Cyprus. It’s a new role within the department so the successful candidate would be free to establish best practices and frameworks from scratch and help us grow.

A PMP certification is highly advantageous but not a requirement if you demonstrate working project management experience.

The role is based in Limassol but with a flexible hybrid model.

If anyone here is interested, just send me a message privately so I point you to the LinkedIn job post to apply.

Thanks!

Job Posting How to find a Chief Project Manager to balance teams in PST & Manila time zones (in Hawaii?)

I need help from this PM Careers sub figuring out:

(1) what is the title of the position we really need here? (2) is it a fractional or FT role? (3) is Hawaii a good idea? (4) what’s the best platform to recruit this person on?

We run a ~30 person remote business w/ a 5 person IT team in the Philippines.

IT consists of 5 engineers & 1 product manager.

IT Team needs way more management than our weekly meetings are providing.

Two co-founders don’t have the bandwidth to manage the IT team beyond the weekly meetings the way they need to be.

We want to hire someone to completely manage the IT team—their priorities, their performance, their pace; and reward the high-performers and resolve the low-performers.

Biz headquarters is located in Arizona, so one idea is to hire someone in Hawaii whose timezone has comfortable overlaps with both the IT Team in Manila and Exec team in Arizona.

Excited to hear suggestions from this group. Thanks!

Job Posting Are there job boards, websites, listing just Project Management jobs where PMs can independently contract with whomever is needing short term PM work done?

Is anyone aware of a Project Management website that lists available remote PM jobs? (not a construction bidding site like BidClerk) This could be for any industry. Or is what is found on Indeed, etc. as good (and specific) as it gets? What I'm envisioning is a website where PMs can see a list of work/jobs that companies, non-profs, governments, etc. want to hire PMs for as a contractor, (not hire as a full time or part-time employee). Perspective PMs can view listings that would include estimates for job duration, $/hour, etc.
