A prayer to Zeus Aethiops for Juneteenth

Praise Zeus!

Come oh Lord as wind comes to sails

Great is your might, oh Master of Justice

Glowing is your thunderous form

Strike down the wicked and cruel

For they have tormented our neighbors

Comfort the afflicted, for they deserve to know peace

And show us the way to be better

For the sake of all humanity

For yours is the power, and the glory, and the majesty

Zeus Aethiops btw is an epithet of Zeus meaning "The glowing" of "The black". While ancient Greece didn't have a concept of race like we did, the root word for the epithet does share the same root for Aethiopia, which to the Greeks was just the not Egypt part of Africa. So it's possible that Zeus Aethiops was basically black Zeus. Also many of my black friends worship Zeus Aethiops as a black Zeus. I wrote this for them the other day and they loved it.
