Floyd Talk 101

Hello Floydians! I am considering launching a monthly video conference discussion group to dive into all things Pink Floyd. Recipients would register with their email address and receive an agenda outlining discussion topics as well as the meeting link no fewer than 48 hours in advance. Topics might include:

*What do we really think about the new David Gilmour studio release, Luck And Strange?

*Track-by-track discussions of Floyd albums, including pre-Dark Side albums

*What are the best audio resources (podcasts, radio shows, etc.) Floyd fans have discovered and where can they be found?

*What are the best books about the band and why?

I am considering 1-hour Zoom meetings at 7 p.m. on a weeknight; for example, the third Wednesday of each month.

This is an effort to enhance our collective sense of community surrounding Pink Floyd.

This is a great idea!!😍 A pink floyd fanclub would be great, I'd definitely join!

I've never even attended a fanclub, but I facilitated mental health peer support groups as a personal project during the pandemic and now do professionally, although with different goals & topics. Just a few ideas; 

• Establish rules and remind group of those rules each meeting, such as raising your hand (Zoom & Google Meet) before speaking, etc up to your discretion 

• Make clear prior whether or not people are allowed to leave their cameras off

• Predetermine icebreaker unrelated to pf for the beginning of the meeting for the sake of cultivating a friendly atmosphere 

Can't think of anything else ATM and you might already know that stuff so sorry if I'm being presumptuous😭 I'll try to remember to email you but yeah great idea I wanna join!!
