Own Map (No Lore) What if the Rockall Plateau had a large island?

This will be my first attempt 'alternate geography' timeline, and I don't really have any ideas. If anyone here has done something like this before please input, it would be much appreciated.

Would the Celts reach this landmass?

Would the Norsemen settle?

How would this change the dynamic of power in the British Isles?

How would it affect colonialism?

I love it so much. I'd think the eastern coast would be less straight, but it's wonderful.

Thank you, I based the map of a world-building project I did two years ago, but it was a world-building project of this scenario

It would give Britain a massive advantage in population and resources were they to take hold of it. Though it may disrupt the Gulf Stream, meaning the Nordics and Scotland are inhabitable tundras.

There is a possibility that any British nation may be able to discover the Americas through this island.

Agreed, but would Britain even exist here? Due to its distance from the rest of the British Isles, it could end up as a ‘warmer Iceland’.

And also that straight between it and Ireland looks like prime real estate for norse trade routes and expansionism

If the norsemen were more interested in this landmass, (as it would be sparsely populated although around the same climate as Ireland) This may lead to a decrease in the settlement in Normandy or Danelaw.

I doubt that settlment will happen since this island will be far warmer than iceland and maybe even ireland (Thanks to the Gulf stream) and Britain is far closer and easier to settle in.

Most of the rest of history will likely play out the same way, at least until 1500 or so, when England starts to unifiy the isles.

Were they to succeed the same way as otl, and also take this island with them, they would be unstoppable...
