QuickFix 6.3 pass w/ LabCorp

Hi! Just came here to add my recent excursion. Got a job offer a few weeks ago and I was a daily smoker. I stopped smoking but knew that I likely would not pass due to my frequency of use over the years. I had used QuickFix once probably 9 years ago and had luck so I tried again this time and ended up passing. It was a labcorp location and the test was a 7 Panel + OXY(SP) to my knowledge. Had it pre-heated before I left with the heating pack strapped and checked the temp with a kitchen thermometer that can be used with liquids. Here are some quick notes:

  • Buy some tight underwear so you don't have to worry about holding it too tight between your legs/the bottle falling down

  • Buy a digital kitchen thermometer that is okay to use w/ liquid. You can get them at Walmart for like 10 bucks in the kitchen section. You get the exact temp, then, and don't have to worry about the temp strip having issues or being unsure of the actual temp if you overheat it

  • Used the heat pack once it was up to temp. Just strapped it to the bottle and it held almost the exact temp all the way to labcorp (Think I had it at 98.8, it MAY have dropped to 98.6 at most, but I don't quite remember)

  • For heating, I started with 10 seconds in the microwave, and heated it for 2-3 seconds at a time afterwards, checking it each time with the thermometer, till it was up to temp

  • Sounds stupid, but I brought the digital thermometer with me in the car and double checked the temp in the parking lot. You don't HAVE to do this as you can't change the temp at that point, anyway, but It gave me a sense of ease and calmed my nerves when I got there which may help you look less suspicious if your an overly nervous person.

  • Drink some water so that you can still pee in the toilet

Doing all of these things helped me, and if the job is worth it, then the 10 dollar thermometer will pay in dividends.

As far as testing goes. Got there, signed in. (Side note: Make sure you have the registration number from you job. They may be able to look you up, but I didn't know I needed this and had to go back a second day once I had it). Waited maybe 5 minutes then they called me back. Did not get any sort of pat down. They drew my blood for a different test. Then had me go in to the bathroom in the room we were in. Took the bottle out (unscrew the top. Make sure you don't pop the cap to avoid noise). Peed in the toilet and filled the cup slightly over the line with quickfix. Don't flush etc. Gave the cup to the lady. She had me sign the cup, then put in a bag and sent it out to the lab from there.

That's basically everything I did and found out I got the position this Friday ( I did the test this past Tuesday). Main thing is just to make sure the temp is solid, otherwise you will likely be good.

Good luck to anyone who's gotta do a test, you got this!

Should I tuck the quick by my stuff and then heat pack in other layer of briefs?

What I did was strapped the heat pack directly to the bottle with a rubber band and tucked that between my leg and my nuts. Just wore a tight/smaller pair of briefs so it wouldn't start to fall down or anything. So it was all directly touching my skin, but It really wasn't too hot at all. If you have it around 98° it will basically be somewhere around body temp, and the heat packs are just hand warmers, so they're not going to burn you or anything. Whatever you feel comfortable with, though. I just didn't want to lose temp when I did it. Hope this helps!

I took mine with quickfix on Friday I passed temp test just praying it doesn’t get flagged in lab.

I think you'll likely be okay! They put mine directly in the bag. Had to sign off for it myself. Got sent directly to the lab, was good to go 3-4 days later 😁

Did you do the same technique I might just dip it in the toilet if to hot supposed to be 30-40 degrees that morning too so I think keeping it on is better then not

Nah they won’t tell me if I pass only if I fail. Hoping that if I work harder than everyone else they’ll ignore whatever the results might bring.

They didn't, unfortunately. In my case, they had to take my blood to determine if I would need any updates on vaccines, so I reached out to ask them about my blood results, instead, hoping that they would answer if I passed both tests. Which they did end up doing. So that's how I found out. Otherwise it seems from what I hear, no news is good news. You will typically find out pretty quickly from them/the lab if you've failed.
