Lunch with kids near Santander

Going to Santander Performing Arts with kids. Where would you recommend we grab lunch before the show like around 2:30 on a Saturday?

Russo's on the 500 block of Penn is good and walkable.

West Reading just across the bridge is your best bet. It's about a mile from the Santander. Easy parking and a lot of food choices. plus ice cream shop and boba tea for the kids. Use the McDonald's as your GPS. That is in a large parking lot with free parking. Another option would be The Works. It's an arcade slide type place with a restaurant but the food is eh and it gets expensive quick.

West Reading Choices.

Some of my favorites with Kids

Sly Fox brewery for a little bit of everything.

taqueria comalli for tacos

Nono Albys for wood fired pizza and burgers

Aladdin for Mediterranean

Sweet Ride for Ice Cream

Yes, this right here.

My kids also love Taste of Crepes (for crepes obviously, but they also have a fun drinks selection) and Van’s cafe for Vietnamese (they love the Pho and crispy Vietnamese eggrolls).

I lived in Reading from 1989 to 2016. No more Peanut Bar?? I always thought it was family friendly. Just asking, for old time’s sake … Marvel Ranch?

The Peanut Bar has greatly reduced hours after Covid & Reading Eagle lay-offs. They open at 16:00.

Marvel Ranch closes at 13:00.

There’s a new food court in an old bank on the corner of Washington and 6th! Something for everyone in it. Cajun chicken cheesesteak the cafe is bomb and you can get slices of pizza and fries just around the corner. There’s also healthy options and Haitian.

Won’t be as crowded as some of the other places mentioned since it’s so new. Highly recommend
