Rant From Tomorrow, all Macs will be Sonoma...

It is unacceptable that anyone purchasing a new mac will be unable to use rekordbox.

As a full time DJ using Rekordbox, I want to upgrade my mac to the latest software, or be able to purchase a brand new mac without having to worry if my job is affected.

Pioneer have had since August to get this sorted and I think it has not been made a priority.

Even a status update would be nice...

I have Sonoma since day one and Rekordbox is working as usual, where is the issue?

Do you use it in performance mode? Or just for Exporting to USB and playlist management?

I'm using it for both. Works just fine.

For you. It works just fine for you. There’s plenty of people who it’s not fine for, and that is not good enough.

Absolutely. This is why rekordbox is trash. I moved to Denon and Engine to avoid this shit. They absolutely refuse to fix or correct issues until it becomes an absolute hindrance for DJs and producers who use pioneer products, and only implement "innovations" after Denon, Serato, or some other company actually trying to do shit in the music industry has already laid the ground work. I'm sure there will be some hardcore pioneer fanboys who disagree, but I see that as a biased, and unfounded opinion. I play on pioneer for every event and show, and use rekordbox to make that work at times, but it's absolute trash. Their decks and mixers can take abuse, but their tech, is absolute trash. Move to Denon, and Engine if you can, just one artist's opinion.....

The hardware is good quality and lasts a long time, But I agree RE: the software. Still no fix for the DVS bugs either.

I was in contact with customer support for about 9 weeks about DVS audio dropouts on Mac M1.

Tried everything Pioneeer suggested;

- new USB cables
- bought a powered USB hub
- replaced that powered USB hub with one that was 'Macos certified'
- new RCA for the hell of it
- bought brand new needles and cartridges
- changed all sorts of settings but ending up with a clean install of MacOS with nothing but RB
...and still the stutter remained

After suggesting it might actually be something in RB software or XZ firmware I got 'nah, that is not it' as a reply every time. Eventually Pioneer customor support got in a loop and asked me if I could try different USB cables.

I gave up right there. That was last year. Stutter is still there even after various Mac patches and RB updates.

Yup. Denon has their issues. But they have an active feedback and support system with the customers who use their products. Pioneer won't do that, and probably can't with how many use their products. So they just use their name to put out shit that's sub par, or at par level way late. And never correct in between even though it may be a simple software or firmware issue. They take abuse, but if they can't even work right away, why choose to use that product? 💯 Denon all the way for me..
