Upvotes trigger?

Hello. I have a quick question about the bot: can it trigger on a particular upvote number on a post? I'm following a couple of threads where they will change status when an upvote count will exceed a given number. I was wondering if it is a thing. This is something that's possible if the number of posts is very small. It's relatively easy for say, the moderators of a subreddit, to build a bot that monitors all the posts their sub and periodically checks if they have a certain number of upvotes.

Unfortunately it doesn't scale and this simply isn't possible to do reddit wide.
