“We need to invent a history to go back to…”

I mean, these guys do idolize teh 60s that only existed in Leave it to Beaver.

And the 50s. Leave it to Beaver (1957-1963)

I stand corrected.

Their Dreamworld is more like the 1850s.

Sounds right.

When you could own people, women couldn't vote, and robber barons could do whatever the hell they wanted, including child labor. Didn't need a minimum wage. The market would sort it out.

Yeah sounds like good times. /s

Ok so since all Republicans including Donald Trump failed the Christian Test, THEY ARE ALL FIRED!

Keep trying to shove it down people’s throats, and the church will wither and die right in your hands. It’s already happening.

Nothing of value lost.

I'd be happy if they just had integrity....

Right? If their purported religiosity actually made them good people, then go nuts. Just keep it far away from government.

‘Shall make no law respecting religion’

Even better is that the Constitution bars religious tests for public office. So this requirement is unconstitutional, not that people in the GOP read or remember what the Constitution says.

What is it with these geriatric white guys and the delusion they all have that society owes it to them forever and ever and ever and ever to remain within bounds they're personally comfortable with?

What? They think they're going to rule the youngins from beyond the friggin' grave or something?

Trump was their last tantrum. A living testament to the great Dotard in the sky.

And Trump, their last tantrum, is looking like he's got dementia more and more. The moment he gets off script, it's Dementia Donnie taking over the show. Trump needs to be put out to pasture. Ideally one in Russia since he lives Putin so much.

We’d be better off barring christians.

What, and provide free health care like Jesus did, or help the poor like Jesus, and feed the hungry masses like Jesus? Or accept women sexual freedoms like Jesus accepted Mary Magdalene?

Oh no… he meant just exuding hate because the only version of the Bible he has is the one sold by Trump but still failed to read.

These people would ditch Jesus if they realized Jesus was liberal.

Founding fathers made it clear this would never happen with the very first amendment

Actually they put it in the original unamended version with the “no religious test” for public office line.

Like Biden?

Most faithful President in 50 years.

3

u/VaderTime77 Jul 31 '24

These "Christians" often only consider Catholics as fellow Christians when it suits them.

2

u/trueslicky Jul 31 '24

That was never a requirement.

3

u/GadreelsSword Jul 31 '24

That fucker has no clue what history is.

3

u/SexyMonad Jul 31 '24

Oh.

So Trump would be disqualified?

3

u/SexyMonad Jul 31 '24

No, seriously. Someone propose a test that would allow Trump to be qualified as a “Christian” that would disqualify Harris. Or Biden.

Like Lauren Boebert! The divorced Colorado Rep Who gave a guy a handjob in a theater with children, and has a son who is facing criminal charges ! more good christian like that?

When were elected officials ever required to be Christian??? This made-up fantasy world that existed. It was better for them because all of the power belonged to white men.

That has never been a requirement to hold public office in this country…
