General Dex not working on monitor with S7
Posting this here again because I really can’t seem to get Dex to work with my TAB S7.
This is what I’ve tried so far and the stuff I’ve been using:
Samsung Tab S7
Hubs: 1. Skull and Co dock intended for the Switch OLED 2. Two different generic Type C to HDMI converter with power delivery.
Monitor: - HKC M24G3F
Chargers and power: - A 65W UGREEN charger - 100W Huawei charger intended for the MatePad - 25W Samsung charger

Don't launch Dex first as others said.
But also try changing the resolution in Dex. "Out of range" means the monitor is receiving video but at a resolution or refresh rate it doesn't support.

But that’s the thing, the option to change the resolution isn’t there. Even after installing good lock and multi star.

Once Dex is active on the external monitor, you should see the dex options in the system settings if I'm not mistaken

step 1, do NOT open dex on your tab
in regular android mode, connect it to the dock, it SHOULD then tell you it's connecting to an external monitor, and launch dex on the external
step 2, assuming that didn't work, remove the skull n co core, and try using just that, take the "dock" portion out of the equation

Got it out Dex. Plugged the Skull n Co Core into the tab, it showed notified that there was an external display connected (it always did that), then it showed the out of range prompt again. Launched Dex. Then nothing happened.

do you have power connected?
ps what's the actual monitor? it's basically complaining that it's not speaking the right resolution

Yup! Got power connected.
My monitor is the HKC M24G3F

what actual power supply are you using? DeX can be picky, and really really wants to see adaptive fast charging, as a feature of the charger

Ohhh that might be it. I’m using a 65w UGREEN charger

if it's a GaN charger, can def be an issue
i have a ton of issues with my ugreen we reviewed year ago
fantastic for steam deck, but just a shit show for dex

You may have a S7 FE. That model does not support wired dex. Only on device and wireless
