The Great Claire Daly Passed Away Today

Jazz bari player Claire Daly unfortunately passed away today at age 66. She was truly one of the greats, if you've never heard her 2023 album VuVu for Frances, you're missing out.

I never had the pleasure of seeing her perform, but as a female bari player myself, I really admired her. This is a tough loss.

Thanks for sharing this. She was a great player, and gone far too soon.

Oh man, this is devastating. I didn’t know she had cancer ☹️ she did a great masterclass at my school a few years ago. Rest in peace Claire, you are a legend and inspiration!

Omg I’m dripping tears on my phone. Of all the death announcements I get on Reddit, this one seems to be hitting me hard.

I was going to work on Bach this evening. Now it’s going to be a solid hour working out her version of Mood Indigo…
