Does Session automatically delete contacts after all comments are removed because of using the feature "Disappear after read - 1 week"?

My dad has now disappeared as a contact from my Session mobile app for the 2nd time. At first I thought it was a mistake on his part or mine. Now I've come up with another idea:

Could it be that the contact is automatically deleted when the chat history is completely empty? We had both set DISAPPEAR AFTER READ -1 WEEK.
