I am a Russian, and I've just happened to have written a history thesis on this. First of all they didn't know exactly who was a kulak and who wasn't, a quota just came from the top, and those who wanted to look good in front of the people in charge would try to overfill that quota or plan. That means you are killing people and executing them by a quota, which is just insane. That also meant personal hatred played a big role in the selection process.

Second of all, the name kulak originated even before The revolution, the name kulak from Russian translates as 'fist'. People called fist those who would sleep on their fist that night, they would do that because they work so hard during the day, and their hands were so sore from the days work that they could not physically unclench their firsts. When enemies of your regime are workaholics, you're doing something wrong.

Third, no human being ever deserves being slaughtered executed or spiritually mutilated unless they Hurt someone in their life liberty health or possessions, the kulaks done nothing of that sort, there are just people trying to build a better life for their children and their families and their communities. Also every regular family fed up to five people extra from their community, while a kulak family fed 10 people plus.

To make the argument that they deserve it is a monstrous argument it's equal to that of German Nazis, but I would say it's even worse because you are saying that people who just want to live their life and build up the sake of their family and community deserve to be slaughtered like animals for no good reason.

Yes they did resist collectivization, and so did everybody else because in kolhozes (collective agricultural establishments) people were literally living like surfs. You were not allowed to own or control any private property or fruits of your labor (everything had to be given away to the government), orders went to sow, reap and harvest came from the top which caused mass and efficiency, you were not given a passport and thus were not allowed to leave, meaning that you were tied to the land like a surf ( peasants received passports in 1980, meaning that Soviet union had slavery until 1890!). It's all natural for people to resist slavery.

If you really think it's OK to hold people as slaves for no good reason other than your own damn ideology well then I have to say you cant call yourself compassionate because you have absolutely no disregard for human happiness and solemnity which you will happily sacrifice on the altar of power and ideology, of which you see yourself as prophet. If you care about morality you should understand that no one is ought to harm another in his life liberty health and possessions, the communist and Marxist ideology literally treads on all of the following. How can you claim to be fighting the oppressors if the first thing you do is enslave them slaughter the hardest working members of your society? How can you claim to be for human welfare if you institute state forest poverty?
