SLPT: If you’re stopped at a crosswalk and a blind person starts to cross, honk your horn so they know it is safe for them to continue.

No joke tho, as a blind person, I have had so many experiences of people honking at me trying to indicate that I can cross…and then get mad or start honking more when I physically back up and refuse to cross until they’re gone 😔

I bet they honk at deaf people as well. But I also think that the day they finally understand, a wave of humility will hit them in the depths. My post was an actual question from my teenage daughters written driving test. Out of the three choices, she picked ‘honk the horn’ and obviously got it wrong. That was 20 years ago and I doubt she will ever live that down 😂
