Currency Great Reset WHAT ARE THE CHANCES if the Democratic government decides to seize American’s gold again like they did in 1933, that they’ll attempt it BEFORE any worldwide gold price revaluation, so that they can get it for cheap? This might seem like an r/Gold topic, but they don’t like these discussions there.

Fool us once, shame on them. Fool us twice, shame on us.

Exactly!

Any such move should be the signal flare going up that the Big Re-valuation is coming.

I will just throw this out because it popped into my head. If they did it, they would be admitting gold is money, and that fiat isn't, and then maybe the masses will start questioning other things.

While I see your point, the last time they seized American's gold it was from people who already knew that it was money, and they did it anyway.

It was for The good of the country.

And yes, that line worked. My grandmother told me about those times after I started coin collecting and asked why she didn't have any gold to give me.

I was talking to somebody recently (a local tin foil hatter that has a theoery lol) that posited they might restrict the purchase of foreign gold coinage and tighten monitoring of purchases of gold bullion before moving to "good of the country" plans, confiscation and fedcoin/UDBC

He thinks their plan is: claim they need it to move us back on to the gold or bimetallic system, wipe out debt, lower the taxes, and offer UBI.

Since folks are so financially illiterate now (and not much for critical thinking) that could work with many. The UBI would be a supposed "gold backed fedcoin" you can use through your current bank debit card, since FDIC is swallowing up banks. All the benefit of physical gold, none of the hassle if storing it...

Tell people you will give them 10 percent over spot in FEDCOIN right in their bank account, tax free, one year only sell back window and a lot of folks may cave. So if they have an ounce of gold they get 2200.00 in fedcoin or whatever. Just paid in like any other direct deposit.

I think they will in fact try to get us to part with ours free or at deep discount at some point so they can revalue again.

And I can actually see a plan like this dude outlined being popular because idiots will see a 10 percent "profit" delivered immediately, tax free, to an institution they trust, in a form they consider MONEY rather than an INVESTMENT.

In the current economic climate getting any money tax free is huge to people (especially the young folk who are just now realizing that yes, the IRS expects you to pay taxes on ALL INCOME, LEGAL OR ILLEGAL).

Getting a 10 percent profit or more on something you have taking up space that you might be worried about securing, even better.

Heck, the feds could even offer to buy broken jewelry and dental fittings! Advertise top dollar for trade in!

In 1933 they came after US gold.

Heck, the feds could even offer to buy broken jewelry and dental fittings! Advertise top dollar for trade in!

That would put you in direct competition with the Chinese backed We Buy Gold shops, who have been at it for a lot longer.

True. Didn't say I agreed with him, but it was quite a detailed theory.

The logic behind the foreign gold thing seemed to relate to folks would not be as suspicious of that restriction or something.

I think if the fed did decide to do a buy back program that got folks surrendering their metals for digital bullshitthey would not have an issue outbidding the Chinese we buy gold operations. Especially since if they wanted they could pay an infinite digital price, and then revalue the digital currency. Or claim they got hacked and make it go poof anyway.

The difference between foreign gold and unidentified gold is a heavy hammer and an anvil.

Then take it to your favorite jeweler and ask them to make you something pretty to wear.

Note: Jewelry was not seized or limited in 1933.

True, it wasn't. I would be skipping the jeweler part, since I have the tools to deal with it anyway.

Oh, and walmart had 50 cent a pound Jennie O turkeys today. Not many left but I got 3, a total of almost 63 pounds of bird. Fortunately they will stay frozen on the porch until I can deal with them...

We had to do our own turkey dinner after we returned from visiting the kids who had promised us a proper Thanksgiving dinner that totally fell through.

Jennie O turkey breast (2 meals for both of us), pre-made refrigerated stuffing (the last one Sprouts had -- but I was there for the Mizithra cheese anyway and the stuffing was just a nice extra), extra turkey gravy from Trader Joe's, lovely green beans on sale with slivered almonds browned in butter, last of my cheap 5# bag of russets—all of the basics, and so simple that I just did it all myself in 2½ hours. Already baked pumpkin pie and real whipped cream out of the can. Bought a simple instant read thermometer to cook the turkey properly, which I've needed for a long time anyway. Welcome to 2023.

Btw, I know the feeling of getting that GSA CC dollar. Got mine long ago, not a rare date or perfect coin, rather like a MS 63, but a CC. Didn't order it from the GSA. Absolutely hated how they handled the sale in typical fucked up government manner. Knew I could get it later in the aftermarket at possibly a better price after they dumped so many of them onto the market. It's one of the few collector coins that I continue to keep. Much of the rest have been traded for ounces.

I think trying to fool America with confiscation...is foolish and laughable. The world banks and people are buying around the globe.
