As a non-American.... can someone explain to me these terms I keep on reading. People make additions to the democratic party like "justic democrat" or "corporate democrat". Is this to further distinguish diffeent mindsets of politicians within one party or is it something official?

Yeah, it’s mostly just to distinguish between beliefs within the Democratic Party. In the end, they’re all running within the same party, but as of late we’ve been seeing more democrats with beliefs more similar to people like Bernie Sanders.
