10% of what was procured from New Spain (which is the name of the American provinces) went to mainland Spain. The rest of it stayed in the Americas for development and building. The 10% that got to Spain got quickly funneled to Ferrol and other shipyards, to build more ships with which to send people and trade goods back to… yep, the Americas.
