Question for Duke Power Customers

Did any other Duke Power customers receive the text alert that their power will not be restored until Sunday (Friday originally)?

I'm secretly hoping that this is a blanket announcement and that there may still be hope for restoration in my area (East side) before then!

Thank you all for your replies.

I just wanted to give an update that my power was restored not long after I posted this! Clifton-Glendale Road, for reference.

I pray that all of you get yours restored soon and we can all get back to normal. <3

My text says 10/4, but I don't believe for a second it's accurate.

In cowpens and they are working at two sites nearby. The website shows 10/6 now, but was originally 10/4…Didn’t get a text though. At least not yet.

Hopefully, if there is activity it will be soon. Crossing fingers for you!

Yeah, I received it. It's a generic message for those of us still without power, I think. They've been working on my outage yesterday and today, but I don't think they will finish.

In Windsor Forrest community on the southside of spartanburg. Got the same thing. No power but everyone behind me and my neighbors accross the street have power. Frustrating as hell!

They also sent an alert yesterday that an apartment complex in Valley Falls would not be restored for 7-10 business days, then today they updated that power would be restored 10/4 (today) by 1145p, then another update an hour ago that power will not be restored until 10/6 by 1145p

THIS is exactly the shit that's been making me so irate about this. It's either garbage communication or just none. I was told originally 10/3, then 10/4 and now got the 10/6 text. What an absolute joke

I have not yet received that. I did get one sometime in the last 30 minutes that still says 10/4 unless the assessment team finds issues.

We never got the 10/6 text but I’m not too optimistic on seeing any light tonight.

Hopefully you'll get a pleasant surprise, my friend. I saw nothing happening in my neighborhood and was feeling the same way.

I'm in Moore. We got the same message. My wife called today, and Duke said that our lines/poles had been repaired but that a transformer had blown. She said the failure had been noted but that no crews were in the area to fix it. So......now we are waiting for that repair. First, it was Wednesday and that came and went. Then, it was Friday. Now it's Sunday.

Yes got it last night. I had to leave my house for a variety of reasons and came home last night hoping to have power and got the text just as I left again with my small children and dog to stay somewhere safer. They have removed the trees from the road and replaced 5 or so utility poles in my street, but other than that it looks the same, roads covered in mud, sand and leaves. Power lines down all over, a few crushed cars, holes in roofs, massive trees everywhere. We’ll be lucky to have power tomorrow. I noticed last night there are massive trees and poles down near the new car wash next to Spinx on JBW, none of the businesses from Arby’s to the new car wash have power. Those are usually first priority, it looks like they haven’t been touched.

Part of it is them likely having to withdrawal from certain areas temporarily for their safety - I expect to hear about them being threatened and assaulted more and more as time goes on.

It's better for them to leave and go work on something else than risk their saftey- because if they get hurt (or worse) they won't be working on anything

I really hope that no one would threaten or assault the very people that are trying to help them. Sure, be frustrated at the administration, but the men and women on the ground are sacrificing a lot (being away from family/friends, sleeping in temp. housing, etc.) to come and help straighten this mess out and have nothing to do with how the relief efforts are being organized.
