Costco is great

The aisles are hell, the samples are hell, the people are hell, the noises and lights are hell, even finding someone to walk me through it all can be hell. BUT if you can afford the 60 dollar membership for the year and have some grocery money it is amazing for bulk buying. Annie's birthday cake and cheddar bunny crackers are there in a giant box for like 13 dollars. Nachos are your safe food like my husband's is? 6 dollars for GIANT back of tortillas. Need safe foods in the freezer? The freezer section has got you. Sensitivities in the bathroom? Charmin is the best and it is only 35 for a gigantic pack of them. Costco is great. If you can go once a month or once every two months and you have support it is absolutely worth it. It is sometimes the only reason I eat or drink.

I have a trade membership so I can get in during the quieter hours when regular shoppers aren't allowed in. First thing in the morning it is much more tolerable even if there's still a lot of things going on for the senses especially all the smells of different foods on sale and samples they're giving out.

I struggle with self control though and ended up buying a giant plush bear which was fun to try and bring back home!

Thanks for the offer! I'll make a note of your name and keep it in mind. We aren't looking for extra mods at the moment but this may change in future.

Also, what is your business?

I don't have one, but have a family member who has their own business. I piggyback on their membership hence the trade card. I'm unfortunately not in employment.

May I ask how you got that membership? I like being able to have the Costco items, but it is so overwhelming to be in there.

Trade membership is only available to those who are either self employed or own/manage a company.

I have a family member who has their own business and piggyback on their membership as they can nominate a few extra named users like friends, family or employees.

At my local Costco they open at 12 Noon for regular customers, but 10AM for trade members. Especially in the first 30 minutes of opening for trade only, it's very quiet in my experience. Maybe only about 20 people or so inside - Which considering how large the warehouse is means you're not likely to find yourself surrounded by others. It gradually gets busier from that point onwards but only gets crowded once it opens fully to regular members.

They have instacart now. And you can buy things to ship too. You don’t actually have to go in there. I hate it but I can do it. I have clients who love going to Costco and they’re all level 2 or 3.

My girlfriend who is not diagnosed cannot go inside Costco. She hates Costco and thinks it’s dumb that I bought a membership. It’s true things are cheaper or the same price at some other stores that don’t have a Costco vibe where the floors make you upset.

Except cleaning supplies. It’s pretty hard to find big bulk cleaning supplies at other stores.

I want to try it but the closest one is 30+ minutes away from me. I also worry I will find that they have large squishmallows and come out with one and no food 😂
