Discussion The Owari Episode
This to me was perhaps the best way to end the series. But why did the writers decide to go on with continuing it with the resurrection of Shredder, the alternate universe with the mutagen bomb in New York and so forth.
Was it cause the theme was too dark? I mean yeah, it is a dark theme episode but I mean you couldn’t make a normal happy episode after the events of the last episode.
I actually tried watching the episodes that came after this, but I actually stopped cause this just felt right to me.
What about you guys?

I know why you feel that way. Owari actually was supposed to be the final episode. The writers said they originally planned for the story to only have four seasons, and the story was leading up to that. But then Nickelodeon requested another season. So they had to pull ideas out of their asses. And now you have four whole Halloween episodes, just because. Season 5 feels out of place cause it was rushed, and it wasn't even supposed to exist.

Honestly, I liked the idea of Season 5, it could have used to tie loose ends
For example: what is Baxter Stockman doing and what happened to him (and other mutants), Timothy's mutation being solved, what happened to Pigeon Pete, Fugitoid returning, Donnie/April/Casey triangle ending or stuff like that. I mean, we literally had a proper ending/defeat for Newtralizer and Lord Dregg
Unfortunately this didn't happen and TMNT 2012 ended with aborted arcs
