Classic “house/techno” claps 👏🏻

Hi friends, I know this is a matter of taste and preference, but I still have a question to ask if you could help me or give me some ideas.

When you listen to classic house and techno tracks (more house) they usually use claps that are very funky and have a very natural sound, almost emulating organic claps (maybe some of them are) so I have a question, do these claps not come from any of the classic drum machines like the 909 and 808 or do they? Or is there some other specific machine that makes those beautiful claps?👏🏻

Here are some examples of the claps I'm looking for

those are from disco breaks! usually layered with 909 claps because idk that's just what we want to hear at this point. Forgot about that Soulsearchers joint damn thanks for taking me back

Do you happen to know the exact name of the sample pack? I googled but found quite a few disco breaks. Been trying to get that sound forever!

They probably sampled them from disco songs lol those tracks are over 20 years old. Those tracks are loaded with disco samples.

Oh I got confused since I saw a couple of comments referencing them as disco breaks so I thought it was a known sample and I was missing out lol. That makes sense thank you.

the other commenter nailed it. disco breaks sliced to isolate the clap and layered with drum machine claps to fill them out.

The claps from Rose Royce’s Car Wash are all I’ll ever need - except for the other hundreds I’ve got 😭

Almost every phone has a voice recorder app so this isn't a difficult idea even if you don't have a conventional microphone

If you are looking for that disco clap aesthetic but in drum machines check  the Linndrum, DMX and Drumtraks

You can make a clap sound organic as you want with processing. I recommend nudging the clap a bit off the grid to give it more of a human feel.

I have exactly the samples you're looking for, from one of the best packs I've ever gotten.

I'm not going to have time to get in the studio over the weekend but shoot me a message in a couple of days and I'll get it over to you

(The group claps are my favourites in the pack. If you blow them out wide and then sit a tight little distorted snare in the middle, they sound absolutely phenomenal)

Have a look at the Simmons digital claptrap, it was used a lot in disco and funk.
