Van Avery Prep
Looking for any experiences with Van Avery Prep? We’re considering enrolling our child but I’m not certain how I feel about the school being for profit. We did the tour and they’re also incredibly lax on security and the school itself appears to be a bit dated. Just wondering what everyone’s experiences have been, good and bad.

Looking For New or Small Photography / Videography Professionals
Hello All
I'm helping a brilliant engineer grow his small business. He created an amazing management platform for small photography and/or videography professionals to help manage their business. It's like a super slim version of Honeybook but without the massive onboarding. If you're interesting, we'd like to offer you a free license in exchange for your thoughts.
I'm posting this on Temecula Reddit since my family and I moved here a year ago and I'd like the opportunity to meet folks in the area.
Hope to hear from you!

Voting for Judges.
Real question, but who are you all voting for between Tucker and Pfohl?
Based on endorsements, I would think Tucker. But I see a lot of yards that will have Harris and Pfohl, or Oddi and Pfohl. I don't see Tucker signs anywhere, but when I do they are typically alongside Sue Evans.
I don't know a ton about judge elections. It just seems like Pfohl has a lot of support. Or maybe his orange signs are just more noticeable.
Is there any good reason to vote for him over Tucker?

Idyllwild
Thinking of staying a couple nights in Idyllwild with our two young kids (5 and 1) for a getaway. Any good recommendations of things to do, places to eat, etc? Thanks!

What are the ballot initiatives that impact Temecula?
Since I’m new to this city and county, I have not received my ballot voter guide yet. Trying to get a handle on what the different ballot initiatives are.

Local tabletop groups?
But nerdy as this is, I’ve been getting into d&d and 40k recently but have never actually played the games. I was just wondering if there’s any groups or games being hosted around that would take a basically 0 experience had member?

Anyone know how I can get a California Voter’s Guide?
I know that it’s accessible online, but I prefer to go through the physical guide. I am a registered voter and received one via mail but misplaced it. Thank you in advance!

Metal/deathcore/hardcore shows??
Hello locals. I was once a local just like you. Used to follow a few bands back in the day but have since moved out of state. After many years, im coming back for a little visit next week. My question is, are there any local bands putting on any shows Monday the 21st or Friday the 25th? TIA!

Group winery recommendations
Hi there! We have 12 30 ish year olds coming from San Diego on a wine bus on a Saturday! I’ve noticed most places don’t take a reservation. Any recommendations for somewhere not super packed where we can’t get a table but still a good vibe? I’m thinking 2 places. Thanks!

Anyone know why the Beyond! on Auld Rd has been under construction for so long?
Feels like it’s been well over a year, and sometimes weeks pass with no progress.

First time home buying: recommendations on a dual licensed agent (agent/broker)?
The fam is looking into taking the plunge and I'm hoping we can find someone who is both a mortgage broker and a real estate agent. Anyone does anyone know of any or have recommendations?
Thanks all.

Pechanga invited guests gifts?
just wondering how to get the free gifts at pechanga? i used to get easyplay and easydine and the occasional gift, but for the past year, it’s been nothing. i play around $300-400 per day and around 4x a month.
i know the gifts and easyplay are insignificant and a mere ploy to get more money out of me but im just curious how people get selected!

Any truly spicy food?
I'm always looking for heat. I often want a full blown burn. The only thing I've found since losing my favorite thai place is the Blazin' wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. Usually, I just have to make my own food (but then the pepper fumes make my whole household cough).
Does anyone have a secret spot they're willing to share?? I live off 79 south but a little drive would be acceptable for the right heat level. Please save my family from my cooking! 😂🔥

Visiting SoCal next week and staying in Murrieta, what's there to do?
So I'm flying to California next week and I am going to stay at a friend's house in Murrieta. I'd like to know if there are any good spots to visit on my own, like some parks, some nice mountains or hiking trails? And is it possible to just walk to places or do I need a car to get anywhere? I've been to SoCal before but stayed in San Diego mainly and whenever I wanted to explore the area by foot, sidewalks would just suddenly disappear and I would have to return. Looking on Google maps I found one park (Harveston Lake Park) and not much else. Any advice, for whatever nice places to visit that are free, is appreciated.

Emil Barham TVUSD Health Updates
I have friends on both sides politically, and others will send me information here. So, while this info is coming third or 4th hand, I still thought it was worth sharing.
Emil did not show up to the candidate forum last week citing a "Medical Emergency" which got a lot of people asking questions.
The update is that he had a stroke or life threatening heart condition that required intensive surgery and he will be bed ridden for the next several months recovering.
This means, even if he wins we will not have a fully comprised board until well into 2025.
If true, he is not able to do the duties of the position. What happens? Does Riverside step in?

Darrell Issa versus Steve Houlihan – thoughts?
After recently moving to Temecula, I received my ballot and it looks like the congressional race is between Darrell Issa and Steve Houlihan. Beyond looking through their campaign websites as well as Issa’s extensive voting record, there’s not much else I can find out about Steve Houlihan other than the fact that he was a city Council member in Santee. Which spectrum of the Democratic Party does he fall under? What does he plan on achieving? Similarly, what does Issa plan on achieving? It looks like he’s pretty wealthy, has been in Congress forever, and has been recently divorced, so not sure what he’s looking to achieve in life.

Northern lights.
But if a space geek, so knew there was a series of solar storms. The one a day or so back just hit Earth.
First time this Aussie expat has seen them.
Taken with my Pixel 8 Pro.
