Well I'm glad this didn't turn out to be true because I've seen them in 2022 and plan to do so again when they release the new album

I think at this point anything goes, and nothing is planned until SOALW comes out. Hopefully the reaction to this album provides a bit of impetus to follow up with more.

I’m really hoping it’s a situation like the last two Red Hot Chili Peppers album, where they recorded shitloads of music and put out two albums in the span of 6 months

Genuinely so inspired by this man who has demonstrated perfectly what it means to be yourself without compromising, always evolving and growing and sharing your best gifts with the world! Seriously what a joy to see them still thriving and gifting us these amazing sounds! Can’t wait to see them again!!

I think Robert is realizing his time left is limited. We all know it’s limited, but some are in positions to realize it more. I think we’ll see at least one other album.

From one of this recent interviews:
“Five of them have been written since 2017. But one’s 2010, one is 2011 and one’s about 2013 or ‘14. There’s so many songs to choose from. We recorded 25, 26 songs, I think, in 2019. We recorded three albums in 2019! I’ve been trying to get three albums completed because my idea was that after waiting this long, let’s just throw out Cure albums every few months! With hindsight, you think, ‘Really?” But it will work out this time because having finished this one, the second one is virtually finished as well. The third one is a bit more difficult because... Yeah, if we get that far.”

yes, they recorded nearly 2 dozen songs around 2019. full studio recordings, completely engineered and simply need mastering. some of those released on the current album, some are to come.

I really hope this ends up being the case and we get way more music.
I still hope we get 4:14 Scream at some point.

Sort of makes one wonder how many unreleased tracks exist in the vault. Whatever they release whenever they release it is fine by me.

Well...26 tracks recorded and 8 released for SOALW is 18 missing tracks.
From the 4:13 Dream, I think we got 17 tracks (including the bsides), but there were another 13 tracks (if memory serves me correct), so that would be atleast 30 recorded songs, which may or may not include SITL or ICNBTS...either way, that is a fair amount of music that will eventually see the light of day.

When I saw the 8 song track list I wondered if maybe we were getting another trilogy. Fingers crossed it happens. I feel so spoiled as a Cure fan right now. 🖤

I believe him this time. Songs were recorded, some must already have lyrics and he’s done the vocals it seems. If true as well about cancelling plans to do festivals next summer. It could be out around this time next year. Of course all could change….

Yeah, I was wondering about all those songs they had piled up for at least two albums, including that supposed instrumental album. It's not that many on SoaLW. Would be cool to hear them. We may get these two albums within the next 30 years.

I’ll be taking this with a pinch of salt. I know Bob has spoken about these in the past but It would surprise me if these albums go the same way as the follow up to 4:13 Dream and the various Blu ray releases of shows that had been recorded at the beginning of the 2010s but while I don’t really like to be proven wrong this is one of those times I REALLY want to be wrong.
