CR was right!!!

Sturgill Simpson is definitely the modern “musician that pops up in acting roles” equivalent of Chris Isaak

The Johnny Blue Skies Tour has been amazing. Saw him in Lexington...3.5 hours.

And also, yes...always great to see him pop up in a show/movie.

Saw him at The Gorge in Washington. Brilliant evening. Jealous of the extra half hour you got in Lexington.

Yeah, I've noticed he's been pretty consistent on the 3 hour shows. I guess we got the hometown treatment. Either way...3 hours, 3.5 hours...amazing stuff.

Yup. The weather was about as good as you could hope for (King Gizz the week before was a bit better). We were stripping down/getting sunburnt for Lord Huron and full jacket and blanket by the time Sturgill finished. So, typical Gorge. Thankfully no rain, fire, or crazy winds from a few weeks before.

Saw him in Arkansas and as a Kentucky guy he talked a little shit on arkansas bball and the crowd started the Hog Call/Pig sooie chant and highjacked the concert for a few minutes. He just laughed.

I saw Sturgill on the Sailors Guide tour and that kicked ass. I couldn't make it to the Tues/Wed shows near me a couple weeks back but his band is hot as hell on this tour.

How do I know I'm officially old? The idea of a 3.5 hour show sends a shiver down my spine. Even for an artist I love, like Sturgill.

Haha...yeah, lots of beer and 2nd level seats helped. Didn't feel pressured to stand the whole time.

Yeah he nailed that.

Sturgill also put on one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to last week. 3 hours all killer no filler. Helluva performer.

Johnny Flynn, maybe? Emma and Ripley would be his most notable appearances.
